In 2009 EPURON sold four assets from its bioenergy division. The biogas facilities Gollensdorf, Schwanebeck, Gröna and Güssefeld were taken over by CEE Bioenergie Holding, a financial holding company based in Hamburg.

A highlight of 2009 was selling the first developed and ready-to-build CSP project:the 50-MW power station Orellana and its development rights were sold in the summer of 2009 to the listed Spanish conglomerate Acciona SA.The Orellana project, situated in Extremadura, an autonomous region in Southwest Spain, will have a capacity of 49.9 megawatts once operational.

In its wind energy division, EPURON completed the Reinsdorf wind farm with a 3-MW capacity in 2009.At the same time, we all worked at full speed on building the project pipeline. After changing strategy to greenfield development, the first project successes are expected at the end of 2010 or at the beginning of 2011.

In Australia, we reached a milestone with the Silverton wind farm:on 3 June 2009, the government of New South Wales granted the construction permit for the first phase of the Silverton wind farm project. The permit includes the installation of 282 wind turbines. The Gullen Range wind farm also received the construction permit for 73 wind turbines one month later.

There was a changeover in the EPURON management:on 1 September 2009, Markus Lesser replaced Nikolaus Krane as second managing director alongside Joachim Müller.
